Change Agent Defined
The definition of change agent can be too complex. A change agent is an individual recruited prior to implementation of a change; must be representative of the user population, understand the reasoning behind the change, and help to communicate the excitement, possibilities, and details of the change to others within the organization. The change agent's or change leader's capabilities have a major impact on success or failure of the project, and on the extent of potential unwanted side-effects. A change agent, or agent of change, is someone who intentionally or indirectly causes or accelerates social, cultural, or behavioral change. Because of their importance, change agents are the object of scientific research.
Unfortunately, the word "change," has broadened in meaning over the years and does mean different things to different people depending on their relationship with the company. For example:

While conducting corporate teamwork change agent sessions throughout the world, we see first-hand the wide variety of change definitions and beliefs among employees, staff and their customers. Our change programs dispel the negative myths of the change agent while developing and encouraging the positive results that can be enjoyed by all parties involved. There are three main steps involved with creating any change development program as follows:
- Begin with the end in mind - Make a specific list how your employees, customers and business as a whole will benefit. Only then can you outline objectives to achieve.
- Make a plan - Do you have the resources to develop Organizational change management internally? Or, do you need to bring in some experts to assemble and conduct a customized training program for your group? This is a critical decision on your part and we would love the opportunity to discuss with you how an outside teamwork training services company such as TeamBuilders WorldWide can pay for itself. Contact us any time at 800-446-1172 or

- Quantify and monitor results - The results from teamwork are measureable but only if you have a defined process in place. This measuring process will be the fuel you will need to convince management and staff that ongoing efforts should be made to continually increase teamwork efficiency.
Results from teamwork cannot always be seen overnight, but from the right program can certainly be seen (and measured) within just a few days or weeks. TeamBuilders WorldWide can begin to lead your team onsite at your location. We can also speak at your upcoming conference or at a breakout session.
